Osterburg Coat of Arms

Shield Argent; issuant from base an ascending, embattled wall Gules masoned Sable with port Argent, windows Sable, half opened portcullis Or and four towers with cupolas Azure, each topped by a ball Or; in central chief an impending eagle Gules, armed Or and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The arms are probably based on the local main seal from the 13th century and on seals from the 14th century. All displayed the eagle of the margraves from the Askanian kin either impending over a wall with four towers or standing on the inner towers. The red eagle of Brandenburg in 1887 was replaced for a while by the black Prussian eagle. The flag colours red and white are those of the Hanseatic League.
