Edenkoben Associated Municipality Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a centred cross Argent, 1st quarter Azure a fleur-de-lis Argent, 2nd quarter Gules a horseshoe Argent, 3rd quarter Gules a vinegrower´s knife Argent in pale hafted Or, 4th quarter Azure a grapevine Or, orle of 16 alternating segments of Azure and Argent.
Meaning:
The orle in the area is symbolising that the arms belong to an associated municipality. In this case each of the 16 segments is representing one of its 16 municipalities. The tinctures red, silver and blue had been those of the Weingarten kin, former local rulers of Freimersheim and Kleinfischlingen. Knife and grapevine are symbolising viticulture as important business line, the horseshoe is a local symbol of at least three of the 16 municipalities. The fleur-de-lis is a modification of the arms of Burrweiler.

Altdorf Coat of Arms

Shield quartered; 1st quarter Gules a castle Argent masoned Sable with open port and two embattled towers, superimposed by a crozier Or in bend, above an impending coronet Or; 2nd quarter Azure a crowned eagle Argent; 3rd quarter Azure with chief Argent, 4th quarter Or a housemark Argent fimbriated Sable.
Meaning:
The 1st quarter is symbolising that the village had been a fiefdom of the Benedictine Weißenburg Monastery. The 2nd quarter displays the arms of the Counts of Degenfeld-Schonburg, the 3rd quarter those of the Lords of Altdorf. The 4th quarter displays the old municipal arms approved in 1953. The housemark consists of a Spanish shield parted per fess with an additional handle at its top.

Edenkoben Coat of Arms

Shield Gules an impending initial "E" Or surrounded by an impending initial "O" of the same with four spikes; mantled, at dexter Sable a sinister facing lion rampant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules; at sinister lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The oldest common court seal of the Palatine Electorate and the Cistercian Heilsbruck Nunnery from 1543 displayed lion and lozenges, furthermore an abess and an initial "H" with crozier. Since 1560 the current pattern is known. Lion and lozenges are alluding to the Wittelsbach kin. The initials are referring to the former name Oedigkoben. Until 1905 the "O" partially was misinterpreted to be a lozenge.

Edesheim Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a saint issuant, nimbed Or, dressed Argent and coated Azure, holding two keys Or in pale by his hands.
Meaning:
The oldest local court seal basically displayed the current pattern with a book instead of a key in the left hand of the saint, who is St. Peter, recognisable by the keys as his attributes. The existence of the seal is proven by prints between 1493 and 1789.

Flemlingen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale, at dexter Gules an eagle Argent, at sinister Azure a pale Argent; beneath Argent a horseshoe Azure.
Meaning:
The eagle is reminding on the Lords of Dahn, the white pale on the von der Leyen kin, both being former local rulers. The horseshoe is a local symbol.
