My personal flag: My crest of water plantain in Japanese kariyasu color (greyish-yellow).
I was born in Chiba, Japan in 1949. My interest in studying flags began at the age of 10 years particularly in Colonial Flags at the time. I graduated from Waseda University in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in political science.
I joined Mitsubishi Corporation and experienced overseas posting in New York during 1984-1989 and in Melbourne during 1994-1999. Now I am a corporate adviser of Yamasa Corporation Japan.
I became a member of Flags Society of Australia in Melbourne and started the activity. I joined FOTW in 1996 in Melbourne. In 2000 I formed Japanese Vexillological Association in Tokyo with kindest support from late Mr.Harry Oswald NAVA. The association became a member of FIAV in 2001.
I attended ICV in 2001 in York, in 2003 in Stockholm, in 2007 in Berlin and in 2009 in Yokohama.
I organized ICV 23 in July 2009 in Yokohama as a host which is the first ICV held in Asia. I made two lectures on Korean Historical Flags and Colonial Flags.
I designed the ICV 23 flag and I play drums in a band named Malo Republic and designed the band flag.
