No Flag

The council informed me they do not have a municipal flag, but one could be adopted in the future.

Coat of Arms

from itait.org.mx

The coat of arms was adopted during the term of Municipal President Santiago Saldívar Caballero (1984-1987), being designed by Pedro Niño Hernández and recognized by teachers looking to promote culture. The border is scrolled, similar to the coat of arms of the State. At the top of the border, 8 DE MAYO (day of its foundation) is read; under, REAL DEL BORBON is read, its original name. To the sides and the bottom, HOY MUNICIPIO DE VILLAGRAN TAMAULIPAS [Today Municipality of...] is read. The inner area is divided into two halves. The upper half depicts a cow, goat, and pig to the right. To the left, three corn plants are depicted for agriculture. In the center of this, a lit torch is seen over an open book and the scales of justice; these symbolize liberty, education, and justice respectively. The lower half depicts a scene of the valley, with its clouds, hills, and fields.
