Coat of Arms

from Facebook

The coat of arms of Soto la Marina was adopted in 1996, being designed by Professor Abel Valadez Liñán through an order from the Municipal President Artemio Arellano Conde (1996-1998). The shield has a scrolled border, reading at the top SOTO LA MARINA; TAMAULIPAS at the bottom. The inner area depicts hills in the background, clouds in the sky, and the sun rising. The left side depicts the La Pesca beach and its lighthouse, with the ocean having a fish over it remembering the fishing industry. A fence is seen to the right and a canal, irrigating a ploughed field. Over the fence is a cow head symbolic of cattle-raising; over the field is a hand holding an open book depicting the municipal history and the El Sabinito archaeological site. To the right of this is a corn plant, and also over the field is a man in a tractor. To the upper-right of this is a deer representing the fauna.
