No Flag

It appears Reynosa does not use a municipal flag.

Coat of Arms

from SeekLogo

The council informed me their coat of arms was adopted as official under the term of Municipal President Rodolfo Garza Cantú (1968-1970), on 29 August 1969 in an Extraordinary Session of the Council. It was adopted through a call for submissions organized by the council, at the initiative of the Athenaeum of Reynosa, with the motive of commemorating the 40th anniversary of City status around 1967. The jury was composed of Israel Cavazos Garza, Donato Palacios Sáenz, among others; they chose the design by the expert in heraldry Felipe Durón of Nuevo Laredo.

The shield is scrolled, having above it items like an axe, feathers, bow, and three arrows. The border reads "TRABAJAR POR LA PATRIA ES FORJAR NUESTRO DESTINO" [Working for the Fatherland is Forging Our Destiny]. The inner area is divided into three sections. To the left, a pink flag with a crown over it, beside a stream remembering the Rio Grande and a Spanish helmet and swords; remembering the colonization of the area. In the background are the mountains. The upper-right section depicts four stars (cotton buds) and six cow heads, the initial economic activities. The lower section depicts a petroleum refinery over a field, its background yellow and blue. At the intersection of the sections is a shield carrying a Republican eagle with its wings extended, with two stars to its sides as a representation of a part of the shield of José de Escandón, Count of the Sierra Gorda.
