Coat of Arms

from itait.org.mx

The council informed me they could not find information regarding the history of their municipal coat of arms. The edges of the border are scrolled, having a blue shield over it. There are 2 ribbons, each having the National Colors on its sides. At the top, JAUMAVE is read on a ribbon; at the bottom, TAMAULIPAS in a ribbon. In the center is a circular device, having spiked edges signifying the 39 ejidos of the municipality. The circle is divided into four quadrants. The upper-left section depicts the Sierra Madre Oriental and an Indian in front. The local Parish of the Immaculate Conception is seen in the upper-right section. The lower-left section depicts the products of the land: avocado, lechuguilla (historically important for its fibers which was used in brushes for the mouth), pine tree, walnut, and aloe. The lower-right section depicts the fauna of the land: deer, goat, and beekeeping above.
