It appears González does not use a municipal flag.

The coat of arms of González was adopted during the 1984-1986 term of Municipal President Andrés Núñez Ramos, in which a contest was held to adopt the municipal coat of arms. The winning design was created by the engineer Francisco Javier Chapa. The border is similar to the coat of arms of the State. At the top is a cogwheel for industry reading GONZALEZ. In its center, an anvil for work. The inner part of the shield is divided into two sections by a triangle, having an inescutcheon at the top. The inescutcheon depicts the rising sun and Tamaulipas Mountains over a field with cows symbolizing the Indian past. In the lower half of the inescutcheon is the lock of the Las Ánimas Dam. To the left is the bell tower of the San Juan Bautista de Horcasitas church, today in the Magiscatzin locality and origin of the municipality. To the right, a railroad building and its tracks as the first construction and motive of the foundation of the city of González. At the bottom, the Cerro del Bernal is seen as the background to the Guayalejo River and the Magiscatzin Bridge over it.
