Klaus-Michael Schneider, 3 November 2012The flag of Alhama de Almería is prescribed by an Edict adopted on 13 November 2006 by the Municipal Council and published on 21 December 2006 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 245, p. 85 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 1:1.5, horizontally divided into two equal parts, the upper white and the lower flag green. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms surrounded by golden yellow outline.
The coat of arms of Alhama de Almería is prescribed by Decree No. 3,103, adopted on 11 September 1965 and published on 26 October 1965 in the Spanish official gazette, No. 256, p. 14,547 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The coat of arms, approved by the Royal Academy of History, is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Vert a bunch of grapes or, 2. Azure a stone bridge masoned sable. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown [indeed, a Ducal coronet].
The bridge, placed between two darker gray rocks on both sides of the base, has four openings, three of them being connected by a black barrulet.
