The village emblem was adopted on Jun 19th 1964 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white village emblem in the center and the kanji name horizontally in white at the bottom. The village emblem is a stylized kanji 九戸 Kunohe. It represents a solidarity and a happiness of the villagers.
