Description

Local Council Isfiya (in Arabic Usfiya, meaning 'storm', due to the weather in this mountainous village) is situated on Mount Carmel, 12 km SE of Haifa . A Local Council since 1951, with 9,000 inh, most of them Druze (78%), the rest Christians (17%), Muslims (5%) and a few Jews.
No flag was sighted in my visit. The flag was reported as white with blue emblem but needs confirmation. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 1303 - 22 September 1966.
