The Communauté d'agglomération Centre Littoral (CACL; 2,240 ha; 92,059 inhabitants in 1999, 137,964 in 2016) was established on 1 January 2012 by the transformation of the former Communauté de communes du Centre Littoral (CCCL) itself created on 9 June 1997 by a Prefectural Decree. The CACL is composed of the municipalities of Cayenne (seat), Macouria , Matoury, Montsinéry-Tonnegrande, Remire-Montjoly and Roura.
