Schönwald Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a quintuplemount Vert, issuant from each peak a fir Vert stemmed Sable, a fountain Azure springing from the central peak. On flag the green mount is grey.
Meaning:
The pattern is alluding to the local landscape and based on a local seal. The municipality used proper seals since the 19th century. The seal (prints since 1811) displayed a steep mountain topped by seven firs, in front had been five more unknown trees. The fountain was introduced in 1880 on a local stamp.

The current pattern was fixed in 1901 by the General State Archive on behalf of the municipality. The flag probably never had been approved officially.
