Kappelrodeck Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a bend Argent, charged with a church Gules with roofs Sable and a belfry at dexter.
Meaning:
The name giver of the municipality had been the chapel of St. Nicholas beneath Rodeck castle. Later it became a parish church. The castle had been a condominion of the Archbishopric of Straßburg and the Margraviate of Baden, the latter gained complete control in 1419, but the archbishopric gained control over the village. Seals since 1481 displayed the bend of Straßburg with the arms of Baden. The current arms display the arms of the archbishopric with an additional church as canting element in the silver bend.
