Billigheim Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Azure, a crozier and a staff, crowned by a patriarchal cross fleury, both Or and in saltire and fixed by a scarf Argent; beneath Argent an 8-spokes wheel Gules.
Meaning:
Billigheim was ruled by a nunnery from the 12th century until 1584, later by the Archbishopric of Mainz until 1803, until 1806 by the Counts of Leiningen and afterwards by the Marquesses of Baden. Local seals at the beginning of the 19th century displayed the family arms of the Leiningen kin. Since the end of the 19th century the current pattern prevailed. The wheel is alluding to the Archbishopric of Mainz. The upper half is alluding to the nunnery. Due to heraldic rules the tinctures of the lower half were changed in 1961.

Banner and arms were confirmed on 13 August 1975 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 130/1976.
