Neuenstadt Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a helmet Argent in base, two inescutcheons Argent ordered per fess in chief.
Meaning:
At the end of the 13th century a city was founded next to Helmbund village. The city also kept this name until 1334. In the same year the existence of the first print of the first seal had been proven. The founders probably had been the Lords of Weinsberg. Their family arms displayed three inescutcheons Argent in a shield Gules. The helmet was a canting element and taken from the family arms of the Helmbund kin, which displayed the helmets. Although the city became a possession of the Palatine Counts of Rhine in 1450 and of Württemberg in 1504, the arms remained the same, but the style of the helmet was adapted several times. Only in 1931 it was replaced by a linden. The name in that time had been "Neuenstadt an der Linde".
