Attenkirchen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a lion rampant guardant Argent, armed and tongued Gules, holding a wreath of hops Or by his forepaws.
Meaning:
The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Lodron, who owned the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) from 1632 until the 19th century. The wreath, in fact three umbels and a leaf but blazoned simply as umbel, are alluding to the economic importance of the cultivation of hops at the southern edge of the Hallertau. The tinctures blue and white are those of Bayern.
