Neutraubling Coat of Arms

Shield Gules an inescutcheon Argent; mantled at dexter Argent a papal cross Gules, at sinister Or a cogwheel Sable issuant from flanch.
The village was established in 1951 and was populated by expelled Germans from former Eastern Germany and from Eastern Europe. It became an important place of metallurgical industry and was elevated to a city on 13 June 1986. The empty inescutcheon is symbolising the expelled people, whose part of the population in 1951 had been 93%. The cross, blazoned as patriarchal cross, is alluding to a few monasteries and nunneries in Regensburg. Especially the Dominican Nunnery of the Holy Cross, the Obermünster Nunnery, the Imperial St. Emmeram Abbey and the Benedictine Prüfening Monastery had been important manorial lords in the area. The cross is also part of the municipal arms of Obertraubling and is alluding to the close connections between both entities. The cogwheel is referring to the importance of metallurgical industries. Black, silver and gold had been the tinctures of Haidauer kin, who ruled the area in the 13th century as vassals of the Wittelsbach kin.
