Emmering Coat of Arms

Shield Sable two battle axes Or bladed Argent in saltire, superimposed abased by a fess chequered of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The axes are taken from the family arms of the Knights of Geggenpoint, known by a seal of the brothers Heinrich and Watt of Geggenpoint from 1306. The knights were manorial lords and had the local cognisance. The Cistercian fess is referring to Fürstenfeld Abbey, who gained all local rights in the middle of the 15th century.
