1966: Bas-Saint-Laurent/Gaspésie Administrative Region is created.
1987: The region is split into two: Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie/Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
Counties (1 municipality* and 5 MRC):
Note: For tourism purposes, Îles-de-la-Madeleine forms its own region, while the other counties form the touristic region of Gaspésie, along with La Matapédia, La Mitis and Matane from Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Here is a most interesting flag and may I add very
beautiful flag. It was spotted by Donald Gauthier and we think it's from the
Gaspésie/Iles-de-la-Madeleine administrative region of Quebec. Anyway, Donald
is pursuing his researches, meanwhile if any of you has a clue about this
Unidentified Flag or Ensign (UFE), we will appreciate any contribution.
