Shield Or a sea shell Azure, on dexter fess point a corn cob Gules leafed Vert, on sinister fess point a grape bunch Purpure leafed Vert, on central base point a pine cone Purpure leafed Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "FREGUESIA DE CABECEIRAS DE BASTO".

Cabeceiras de Basto is one of the eight communes of the namnesake municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 616 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 24,52 km².
