Shield Or, a two-tassel ecclesiastical hat Sable, in chief two bugle horns Gules stringed Argent addorsed. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BAÇAL".
Meaning:
The arms refer to a famous local, the 19-20th century self-taught polymath Francisco Manuel Alves, Abbot of Baçal (and metonymically known as such: Abade de Baçal) - writer, historian, genealogist, and archaeologist.
