In the centre of a green shield is a horizontal golden (= yellow) crozier. Below is a sitting hare of the same colour. Above are three silver (= white) apple blossoms ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
According to source the crozier is symbolising the fact, that the village belonged to the domains of Doberan Abbey. The hare is canting ("Sanitz" is derived from an Old-Slavic word for "hare"). The blossoms are alluding to the orchards on the municipality's territory.
