Commander's Log
Commander John Rupertus
Shipmates. Hope everyone had a pleasant & prosperous holiday. Thanks for the great turn out and participation at the December meeting. Our best wishes to Bob & Helen Sleighter on their retirement and move to Florida.

E-Board meeting was held Monday 10 January 2005: our first order of business is to re-establish the "SUB VET GAZETTE". Suggestions are appreciated.

Next. I am moving our monthly meetings back to American Legion Post 40 at 500 5th Ave, Glen Burnie (410-761-2654). Look for meeting notices in your local newspaper “Community Notes” plus the usual E & Snail mail reminders.

And finally, increasing membership, getting recognition, and increasing attendance at our functions are my main goals. Again - Suggestions are appreciated.

Some ideas from our E board meeting:
Increasing membership
Advertise in local newspaper "Community Notes" section
Contact Reunion Planners for their shipmates from MD area
Send each Boat our newsletter.
Getting recognition
Items of interest in local newspaper “Community Notes” section
Get involved in a local charity - Roger McDonald House - Can tabs.
Attendance at our meetings
Serve food at meeting, i.e. Party Tray, Barbecue, Chips, etc.
Guest speakers, movies
