Kirchheim Coat of Arms

Baroque shield parted per fess of Gules and Or, charged with a bearded warrior Argent in armour lifting his dexter arm in order to swear an oath and holding the hilt of his sword in bend by his sinister hand.
Meaning:
In 1490 Kirchheim gained the rights of a market town by Emperor Friedrich III. Acccording to the deed of approval the warrior is a cuirassier and described in detail. Claims the warrior had been mounted in the beginning thus have been proven as false. The meaning of the warrior is unknown. The first seal from 1544 already displayed the pattern. In the same year Hans Walter of Hürnheim applied for a grant of a coat of arms. During the 19th century the warrior was often depicted erroneously.

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were granted on 28 May 1544 by Emperor Karl V.
