Safiental commune (Graubünden/Grischun/Grigioni canton, Switzerland)

Azure a Cross gyronny Argent and Sable.

The banner of the arms is "azure a cross gyronny argent and sable". This flag comes from the banner of the Safien country in 1585, this last had a white Agnus Dei in the canton on a green ground [This was the emblem of the former Safien circle].

On 1 January 2013 the new commune of Safiental was formed through the merger of Safien, Tenna, Valendas and Versam (see below).

Argent a pine tree eradicated Vert between three gun stones Sable.
(We have here three roundels Sable or ogresses, but the Medieval and Post-Medieval term for cannon balls was indeed "gun stones", and I assume that the official blazon calls for such?)
