Description of the Flag

Laurel is located in northern Prince George's County, Maryland along the Patuxent River, where Howard and Anne Arundel Counties meet. Originally a mill town, the community is mostly a "bedroom" suburb for commuters in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas. The town is probably best known as the home of the Washington International horse race (one of the international triple crown.)
