Blazon: I grønt tre gull eikeblad i trepass med eikenøtter mellom. In English: Vert three oak leaves in pall and three acorns in pall inverted stems conjoined or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 20 December 1985 after a drawing by Nils Th. Finstad. [c2j87]
The municipality was formed in 1964 by joining of municipalities of Finsland and Greipstad as well as parts of Øvrebø. The municipality wanted to show a design combining the three and symbolising their unity. Oak is abundant in the area.
