Coat of Arms

The coat of arms was adopted during the Administration of 1967-1970, being designed by the native Conrado Gallegos Noriega, also the designer of the state coat of arms, at the petition of Municipal President Dr. Montoya López. Description according to the Municipal Edict on Government and Police:

It has 5 figures; one of them are swallows flying around a bell tower emblematic of the bell gable of its temple, without forgetting of course the patron saint San Lorenzo de Guepaca; these swallows continue giving a colorful frame and tranquility to the population, forming part of the landscape...

The shield also carries tools used in mining [crossed pick and shovel] and agriculture [bundle of wheat], the same activities of which give sustenance and life to today for the municipality and finally a cow with its calf simplifying the meaning of cattle-raising, livestock activity which the majority of the inhabitants practice.

The bordure carries the name "HUEPAC".
