Overview

Last Sunday I was in the Busó Festival in Mohács and I saw a horizontally flying vertical flag of the town at the Mayor's Office. The coat of arms of the town is at <www.mohacs.hu>.

Flag of Mohacs at <www.mohacs.hu>. The photo was taken on the occasion of 100 years of the Mohacs Sokac Olvasókör (the last word means association, cultural society, Sokac being regional name for Slavonian Croats).

Mohács flag is red and white by regulation. However, the actually used flag differs from the one described in the regulations.
According to the regulations the flag is red and white with Coat of Arms in the center, however in the actually used flag, the Coat of Arms is placed in upper part of lower half of the white sripe. Town's name is not mentioned in the text, but it is placed under the arms with red Gothic lettering.
