The municipality of El Torno (884 inhabitants in 2018 vs. 1,846 in 1950; 2,200 ha) is located 100 km north-east of Cáceres and 25 km north-east of Plasencia.

Flag of El Torno

The flag and arms of El Torno, adopted on 8 May 1990 and 12 January 1993 by the Municipal Council and validated on 15 October 1991 and 15 February 1993 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 5 March 1993 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 20 March 1993 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 34, pp. 844-845 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Square, red, in the center the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Quarterly, 1. Argent a stone tower surrounded by a pine and an olive tree proper, 2. and 3. Vert a lathe [torno] argent, 4. Gules two sabers or in saltire surmounted by the letters "Por F.7" or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
