Presentation of Sanchorreja

The municipality of Sanchorreja (106 inhabitants in 2009; 3,500 ha) is located in the center of Ávila Province, 20 km of Ávila.
Sanchorreja is mostly known as the site of the fortified site known as Los Castillejos (detailed presentation).

Symbols of Sanchorreja

The flag and arms of Sanchorreja are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 26 August 2002 by the Municipal Council, signed on the same day by the Mayor, and published on 3 April 2003 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 64, p. 5,005 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag with proportions 1:1, horizontally serrated yellow and green. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Vert three ewes argent a chief serrated or a bishop's mitre gules. [Crown not mentioned]
