Presentation of Bernuy Zapardiel

The municipality of Bernuy Zapardiel (109 inhabitants in 2018 vs. 435 in 1950; 1,078 ha) is located 70 km north-west of Ávila and 30 km south-west of Arévalo.

Symbols of Bernuy Zapardiel

The flag and arms of Bernuy Zapardiel are prescribed by an Agreement adopted on 24 September 2018 by the Municipal Council, signed on 28 January 2019 by the Mayor, and published on 4 February 2019 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 23, pp. 4,007-4,008 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Panel in proportions 1:1, width on length, vertically divided in the middle; the rectangle at hoist is crimson red and the rectangle at fly is white. In the center is placed the municipal coat of arms. The height of the coat of arms is 2/3 of the flag's width (proportions of the panel according to Article 13 of Decree No. 105 issued on 9 May 1991 by the Government of Castilla y León).
Coat of arms: Spanish shield, oblong with rounded-off base. Argent, a bend sinister wavy azure charged with a frog argent surrounded on top by a warrior proper on bottom a pine proper.
