The flag of Irma, Alberta strongly references the two primary industries of
the community: agriculture (cow and head of wheat) and the oil and gas industry
(oil derrick). The date 1912 refers to the year the village officially became
incorporated. The shield in the upper left corner of the flag refers to the #1
grade of grain which is grown in the region.
