Rülzheim Associated Municipality Coat of Arms

Shield quartered with one embattlement exceeding the lower quarters in centre, 1st quarter Azure a reversed initial "V" Argent, 2nd quarter Or a horseshoe Sable, 3rd quarter Or a fish hook Sable, 4th quarter Azure an armed arm Argent holding a cross staff in pale of the same, orle quartered of Argent and Sable.
Meaning:
Administration seat is Rülzheim municipality. The quarters are representing the four municipalities of the entity as follows: Hördt by 1st quarter, Leimersheim by 2nd quarter, Kuhardt by 3rd quarter and Rülzheim by 4th quarter.

It is a red-white-red vertical triband with ratio of stripes 1:3:1 and coat of arms shifted towards the top in the white stripe.

Hördt Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, sitting on a throne Or St. Mary, nimbed Or, dressed Argent and coated Azure, holding the model of a church Argent by her dexter hand and baby Jesus Christ, also nimbed Or, on her laps, in base in front of her an inescutcheon Or, charged with an impending chevron Gules.
Meaning:
The inescutcheon displays the pattern of an old court seal of the village. St. Mary is patron saint of the Augustine Hördt Provostry, founded in 1103, to which the village historically belonged. Witnesses of the foundation had been Emperor Heinrich IV and Bishop Johannes I of Speyer.

Meaning:
The crozier is alluding to the Augustine Hördt Provostry, the former manorial lord.

Leimersheim Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a horseshoe Sable surrounding a 6-point star Gules, in chief a string Sable with tassels.
Meaning:
The old arms simply displayed a black horseshoe on a golden shield. They were based on a local court seal from 1701. Star and string were added in 1964. The village was owned by the Lords of Fleckenstein, who ceded it to the Augustine Hödt Provostry. The string is representing the provostry. The star is alluding to the fact that the village had been seat of a court of justice in the Medieval.

Rülzheim Coat of Arms

Shield Gules with embowed base Vert, a sinister facing knight clad in armour Or with plumes Argent, mounted on a horse salient Argent bridled Or and holding a lance with a crosslet patty Or at its top.
Meaning:
Rülzheim is seat of the namesake associated municipality. The knight is St. Maurice, the local patron saint, recognisable by his attribute, the lance with cross. The arms are based on a local court seal from 1721.
