The Flag

The Lower Similkameen Indian Band went thru the process and flag contest in 2019, and finally the new flags were produced in April 2021: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=4213427255407250&set=pb.100064571234844.-2207520000.

“This Piece there is the Eagle that represents our people as Eagle People” and the “Lady Mountain” in the background with the Similkameen River flowing through our valley. The red colouring represents the Tulm’n, red ochre that our people used for pictographs and trading for paint.”

The chief and council/administration wanted to ensure that any changes or suggestions that were made after her final submission that she was a part of those changes now to finally receiving a sample flag, that she will be gifted a copy of the flag as her request and release forms as required.

The chief and council are hereby formally announcing the new LSIB flag as announcing the winner at the LSIB open house 2019. Since that time the arrangements were under way to bring the final agreed upon flag and now which we have only received a new sample flag in April 2021. We would like to know formally announce and share the new LSIB flag…
