Rhode Island, a newcomer on the scene, designated its first marina in the course of 2007.  Website: www.crmc.state.ri.us/projects/cleanmarinas.html

"The RI Coastal Resources Management Council has developed a Clean Marina Program with the RI Marine Trades Association, RI Department of Environmental Management, EPA and Save The Bay to protect the state's coastal waters and benefit the marina industry in Rhode Island. (...)

The Clean Marina Program is a voluntary initiative designed to reward marinas that go beyond regulatory requirements by applying innovative pollution prevention best management practices (...) to their day-to-day operations.  (...) Marinas that achieve this status will be presented the RI Clean Marina Award and other highly publicized incentives to distinguish them as top tier 'green' businesses that offer clean, safe, and environmentally friendly facilities."

Clean Marina flag visible in background of photo, bottom of page: www.crmc.state.ri.us/news/2007_0912_cleanmarina.html.

White hoist 1/3 of field bearing a yellow disk, enclosed by a blue (or sea-green?)-and-white twisted rope, with a white upright anchor upon it; the fly 2/3 of field apparently sea-green, bearing light blue words "rhode island" above white ones "Clean Marina".

The flag again, as a drawing (rope in three colours, adding black not present in flag on photo; field is clearly blue): coastalmanagement.noaa.gov/initiatives/media/logos/RI-logo.jpg
