Description of the flag

The Wyoming gay flag is derived from the state flag by repainting the bison into rainbow colors, with red at the top and in the same shade as the flag border, while blue is lighter than the flag field. The flag is currently shown in Greg Gomes' collection of gay flags images: www.gayjourney.com/flags/gay_flags_state.htm, and, unlike most images, is not marked as his creation. All other sources seam to repeat that image. While this might have also been true for Chris Pinette's website: www.pinette.net/chris/flags/gay/index.html, there is also his statement that he had seen the real flag in San Francisco. The earliest capture of this page at Internet Archive dates from 2000-05-23, so the flag must have already been in use during the 1990s, but must have also fallen out of use since then, having been replaced by the Rainbow Flag and other simpler designs.

The image above is derived from the SVG image of Wyoming state flag from Wikipedia: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Wyoming.svg.
