Description of the flag

The flag is a horizontal tricolor of blue-white-gray. In the center is an emblem made of a golden ring with the town's name at the top, and the state's name at the bottom, bisecting the town's establishment year of 1888. In the center is the blue outline of the state of Kentucky, and a golden star marks the town's location within the state. Next to the star in the center of Kentucky is a bison, which seems to be a frequent symbol of the city.
