Description of the flag

The flag was adopted by the town council in May 2019 and was designed by resident Barbara Smith. The design shows a horizontal bi-bar of green and red with a blue wavy line in between. Inside of the green field are four Cahaba Lilies. The blue wave represents the Cahaba River, and the red field depicts the Blocton coke ovens, which were constructed back in 1887 and was at a time one of the largest coke oven complexes in the state of Alabama. On the fly side of the flag is a vertical white bar with the town and state name on it in red, and two blue stars.
