From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"In a purple field with the narrow vert chapter are or crossed sabre and mice, accompanied by an or alder branch below. The emblem adorned by or decorative cartouche and crowned by an or rural crown. Sabre and mice mean cossack council which was called at 1650 in Zherdova by Yuri Khmelnyts'kyi. At those times in this district grew a lot of alder which later local inhabitants cut on a pole for fences. It has denominated village. Or alder means branche valley, the purple field symbolizes power and knightly nobleness of cossacks, and a vert strip means modern wood. (<www.brovary-region.com.ua/silrada/silrada.htm>)."

The Village

"The settlement was found at the 1858 in the Zherdova valley, near a wood and railway station. Near settlement were found the farms Pidlissya, Vil'ne, Zaharivka, Mykhailivka."
