Upper Nile Region

Some South Sudan states were controlled by the rebels, e.g. Adar, Sobat. Sobat was in the (later) regular Latjoor state. Adar (also called Central Upper Nile) was in the disputed Upper Nile state.

At that time there was also a drawing for the "Greater Upper Nile Region", later used by parties like the "Upper Nile Liberation Front" or the "Workers Party of Upper Nile" (photos of those flags not found). Greater Upper Nile Region was a would-be reconstitution of the former Upper White Nile sector when South Sudan (in 2005-2011) was divided into Bahr El Ghazal, Equatoria and Upper White Nile. Upper White Nile consisted of the three states of Upper Nile, Jongley and Unity.
