Aweil East is a defunct state, existing from the time of the presidential
proclamation of 2 October 2015 to 22 February 2020. After some time, it elected
a governor in December. Although unclear if a flag was adopted in 2016, it is
known an emblem was adopted by that year based on photos. What is known is that
the state flag was adopted by 2017.
The flag of the Aweil East State was
a white field with the state emblem in the center, specifically a variant which
has a central circle outlined in black, depicting in its center a giraffe
walking over grass as a symbol of the environment. Surrounding this are two
green branches extending from a yellow ribbon, having two sections and two brown
circles to its sides. The upper section of the ribbon reads Aweil East State. Of
course, the flag and emblem ceased to exist in 2020.
Finally, I should
note: it is not clear if the emblem on the state flag was inspired by the Aweil
East County emblem or if the Aweil East County emblem was created after the
state transformed into a county. Both are the same.

The state emblem was adopted by 2016. In a seal format, its inner circle depicts a gradient of blue (top) to white (bottom). Over this is an image of a giraffe standing over grass as a symbol of the environment. This inner circle is outlined thinly in orange-white-orange. The outer ring is blue, reading at the top AWEIL EAST STATE. At the bottom, the initials A.E.S.; from this, two branches emerge for prosperity in white. Other variants existed like the one used on the state flag.

There was also an emblem for the State Legislative Assembly. You can see a
