Coat of arms

[Monte Córdova commune CoA] image by Sérgio Horta, 27 July 2017

Shield Or; on a mount Vert issuant from base wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, a towerless castle Gules masoned Argent and with port Argent, in chief an orb Azure garnished Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "MONTE CÓRDOVA".
Meaning:
The commune's name refers to a hill, and therefore the arms are canting, and to Cordova - probably the Spanish city, not particularly close to this location; the arms show however no evident connection to it or its symbols. The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as the Divine Saviour.
