Shield Purpure, all charges are ordered per pale; above a pair of keys crossed per saltire, one Or and the other one Argent; in centre a lion couchant Or, holding a palm frond Argent by his right for paw; beneath a goat passant Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE MANGUALDE MESQUITELA E CUNHA ALTA".
Meaning:
The charges are representing the former communes, the keys stand for Cunha Alta, the lion for Mesquitela and the goat for Mangualde proper.

Shield Vert; a pair of keys crossed per saltire, one Or the other one Argent; between a wedge Or in chief and a colour palette Argent in base, the palette having four blurs of colour, two black, one red and one blue, tierced by a sinister bendy paintbrush Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "CUNHA ALTA".
Meaning:
The wedge (Port.: cunha) is a canting element. The pair of keys is an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.
