Coat of Arms

[COA of Hattfjelldal] image by Tomislav Šipek, 23 December 2015

Blazon: Delt av sølv og grønt ved tindesnitt med en enkelt tinde. In English: Per fess argent and vert embattled with one battlement.
Approved by the royal resolution of 14 November 1986 after a drawing by Arvid Sveen [c2j87]
The municipal name means Hattfjell valley, while Hattfjel is, of course, the Hatt mountain. The designs shows a distinct and unusual shape of the Hatt mountain with its steep sides and plateau like top.
