Blazon: I blått et gull Andreaskors.
In English: Azure a saltire or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 11 September 1981 after a drawing by Anders Kjær. [c2j87] also see https://www.facebook.com/krodsherad.kommune.no/posts/562624240506558
The design is canting as the popular etymology understands the name derived from "cross" (kryss), i.e. as the place where roads cross. The modern understanding is that the name Krøderen means "crooked lake". In any case, it is sad that as seen from Norefjell mountain, Krøderen, with its valleys, may look like a cross. The choice of colour was to differentiate from other armigers.
