Located in Tamana City Kumamoto Prefecture and established in 1999. The embroidered ceremonial flag has white background with a dark red symbol mark and English university name in white within blue ribbon and gold fringe. The university flag has white background with a dark red symbol mark, English university name in white within blue ribbon and horizontally written the university kanji name in blue. The welfare society of the 21st century marks the dawn of the "Age of Kokoro (spirit)," and the Kyushu-shaped heart in the symbol mark also represents the spirit of the university's founding. The oval shape in the center represents the Johoku region of Kumamoto Prefecture, where the university is located, and the human figure in the mark as a whole symbolizes the passionate young people with "heart" who gather at the university.
