Presentation of Croatia Line

Croatia Lines succeeded Jugoslavenska linijska plovidba, based in Rijeka, in 1992.
Lloyds give the company as being in financial difficulties in late 1999 and they do not appear to have survived.

Jugolinija was established in 1947 in Rijeka with 18 ships, reaching 57 ships and over 3000 employees in 1986. In 1949, it merged with Jugoslavenska slobodna plovidba. In the 1950s, over two dozen ships were split to the newly formed companies Splošna plovba, Jugotanker, Atlantska, Jugooceanija.

The house flag of Jugolinija, as shown by Josef Nuesse and by Isaić [isa01], is blue with a white lozenge charged with a red five-pointed star in the middle.

Brown's 5th edition [wed51] shows a red flag with a white diamond throughout bearing a red star, indeed the flag of Jugoslavenska slobodna plovidba. Brown has compounded the error by showing the blue flag version of Jugoslavenska Linijska under the heading of Jugoslavenska slobodna.
