Orfeas, named after the mythical musician Orpheus, is located in the north-central part of Evros, bordering both southeastern Bulgaria and Turkey.

The flag of Orfeas (Kokkonis website) was white with the emblem of the municipality, featuring Orpheus and a lyra, and the name of the municipality below, and with a dark blue border.
